About ten million visitors come every year to the Western Wall and are thrilled to see the only remnant of the Temple complex. But those facing the Western Wall find it hard to imagine a vast structure. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is launching an innovative project that will allow anyone to reconstruct the Second Temple period.
The Western Wall is one of the holiest sites in Judaism, but it can be difficult for visitors to imagine the vast and magnificent Second Temple that once stood behind it. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is launching a new project that will use virtual reality to allow visitors to reconstruct the Second Temple period in stunning detail.
The project, called "Virtual Temple," will use the latest VR technology to create a 360-degree experience of the Second Temple. Visitors will be able to walk through the Temple grounds, explore its many buildings and courts, and even participate in religious ceremonies.
The project is still in its early stages of development, but the Western Wall Heritage Foundation hopes to launch it to the public in 2024. The foundation is working with a team of archaeologists and historians to ensure that the virtual reconstruction is as accurate as possible.
"We believe that Virtual Temple will be a transformative experience for visitors to the Western Wall," said Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation's chief rabbi. "It will allow them to step back in time and experience the Second Temple in all its glory."
The project is expected to be a popular attraction for tourists and pilgrims from all over the world. It will also be a valuable educational tool for Jewish students and anyone interested in learning more about Jewish history and culture.
Virtual reality has the potential to revolutionize the way we experience historical sites. By allowing us to explore and interact with these sites in a virtual world, VR can help us to better understand and appreciate our past. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation's Virtual Temple project is an exciting example of how VR can be used to enhance our experience of holy sites.
Next to Western Wall Square, this site allows anyone to tour the Temple Mount and Temple using advanced binoculars using virtual reality technology. Visitors sit on chairs and receive a virtual reality helmet comprising a mobile device where the 3D technology tour projected, reflecting the focus of the image on every headset. Performance allows each viewer to look at 360 degrees and to focus on the details that interest him.
3D Herod: Touring the Second Temple
Arch Tour carried out the development of the site and technology, and they undertook extensive research to reconstruct the Temple building. Research by historians, rabbis, archaeologists and art scholars has allowed a detailed reconstruction of the marble floors and materials used for construction, which have placed as another layer on top of the remains in the area.
